How to install a CDI ignition - 1972 Evinrude 85 hp ignition upgrade

So you have an old Evinrude or outboard engine and the ignition is shot, or in my case when you looked at it you could see the wire casing has disintegrated and the wires turned green with oxidation. The original ignition amplifier is nearly impossible to get AND you'll end up in the same position when that goes bad.

CDI makes a upgraded ignition box however the instructions are a little unclear. I'll show you how to install and wire up the ignition, things you'll come across, and some of the issues I noticed when I purchased the boat and motor.

I like simple and easy instructions, so this is pretty straight forward. My channel will be about DIY repairs, urban chicken farming, good places to go with the family, and whatever other nonsense I can come up with.
