Porsche 997.2 Carrera LN Deep Sump PDK Upgrade (2009 - 2012)

Servicing your PDK transmission can be done easily by a DIYer. Just be prepared for a bit of a mess and the fluid tends to get everywhere. Make sure you are working on a cool transmission while draining.

Porsche calls for the fluid to be changed every 6 years or 60,00 mile and the filter to be changes every 12 years or 12,000 miles. The filter is built into the pan, so you must replace the pan and fasteners to change the filter. If you track your car, I recommend upgrading to the Bilt Racing Service PDK pan. It allows you to change the filter without buying a new pan and the hardware is reusable. As an added benefit, 0.5 quarts added volume and cooling from the finned aluminum sump improve transmission and fluid life for both street and track use.

If you are going to be changing the filter often this is the way to go.
