Occasionally I do work for the local law enforcement. I am not just an expert on locks, I am an expert on all types of security. If the cops are doing an investigation then they will call me when they need help getting past complicated physical security. A few of the officers are friends of mine so it is nice to work with them from time to time.

The calls are usually pretty mundane. However, this one time the detectives needed help getting into a house for an investigation involving a missing person. The house was locked down pretty tightly but I was able to get in. There were was a pretty strong smell coming from the upstairs bathroom and the door was locked. The cops around me new what to expect and I kind of wish they had warned me. The bathroom lock wasn't so complicated. I could have opened it with my eyes closed and I would have had I known what was going on.

It wasn't so much the sight of the dead body that got me. It was the smell of week old dead meat that really lingers in my mind. The police called the case solved and thanked me for my time.
