This is a short video explaining how to convert the gmt time zone into local time zone when your data has multiple countries.
Also this demo accounts for day light saving. There is nothing like one size fits all. If you have the data at city level or time zone name, then you have to change your model to account for this. Also if you are dealing with multiple countries , across different year, then dimensions table should include the Year to account for the respective time zone start date and time zone end date of that year.
