The Pay-It-Forward program is just one of the ways that Good Bowls promotes food equity in North Carolina and supports the local food system. During each campaign, people donate meals online and we partner with a locally-owned restaurant to cook up some delicious, nutritious meals to donate to food-insecure families in the community.

During our August 2021 Pay-It-Forward campaign we worked with Pittsboro EATS! and with Chef Sera Cuni at The Root Cellar. Over 200 meals were donated and Chef Sera whipped up a farm fresh chicken burrito style bowl packed with fresh NC vegetables. Once the meals were frozen, we dropped them off to our community partner, Communities In Schools, and they were then distributed to food-insecure families in Chatham County.
