First 1,000 KM Across India: Our First Forced Stop!

In this episode, we leave Madurai behind and head to Kovilpatti, an industrial city nicknamed the “City of Matches”. Famous for its kadalai mittai (a peanut candy made with jaggery syrup, a pinch of salt, and dry ginger), matches, and fireworks, Kovilpatti had some surprises in store for us!

🎉 1,000 KM and First Forced Stop
On our way to Kovilpatti, we hit a huge milestone – our first 1,000 KM in the tuk-tuk! But hitting that milestone meant it was time for our first service. With all our communication with the service centre done via Google Translate in Tamil (check out the hilarious text message screenshot!), we weren’t sure if the appointment was confirmed.

Thankfully, the service went smoothly, and Adam stayed back at the hotel to relax while our tuk-tuk got some much-needed care.

🛕 Exploring Kovilpatti
While in Kovilpatti, we couldn’t resist visiting a beautiful temple. As you might remember, Adam was rejected from entering the Madurai temple in the previous episode. Determined not to miss out again, he finally bought a dhoti – no more temple mishaps!
