Today, we honor the victims of slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Chosen by the UN General Assembly, this day serves as a reminder of history’s painful legacy and the urgent need for action against structural racism.

As ECCAR Coordinator for the Working Group on Anti-Black Racism, Angelo Camufingo highlights the role of cities in post-colonial remembrance work—through decolonial tours, exhibitions, and public memorials. Understanding our past is key to shaping a more just future.

Our present cannot be detached from the past. Let’s work towards a society free from discrimination. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽
