In this video, you will know about the types of obesity. (Obesity of the male or Android Obesity) Android obesity is described as fat distribution around the abdomen, shoulders, and around waist (belly button). (Obesity of the female or gynoid obesity) Gynoid obesity is the fat distribution around the hips and thighs. The fat storage in the body determines your type of obesity and the shape of the body. Also, the more fat deposition in your body determines the direct risk of increased visceral fat inside. If you store more fat around the android region (waist) this is considered apple shape. If you store more fat around the gynoid region (hip & thigh) this is considered pear shape.

Android fat cells are predominately visceral, they are large fat cells deposited under the skin and are highly metabolic active. The hormones that are secreted by these fat cells have direct access to the liver, which ends up in a stage called “fatty liver”. In men testosterone circulation causes fat cells to deposit around the abdominal and gluteofemoral region. In women estrogen circulation causes fat to deposit around the thighs, breasts and buttocks.

Android is associated with a greater risk for:
Hypertension
Insulin resistance
Diabetes
Coronary heart disease
For women PCOD

Gynoid Obesity is associated with a greater risk for
pain in Knee
Back pain.
Struggle for walking
Infertility
