Over a thousand villagers of Vakurta village under Savar upazila of Dhaka in Bangladesh do living on jewelry making.
They have been making the jewelry for hundred year. Earlier, they had made jewelries with gold and silver. But now few of them left and most of artisans make jewelries with metal.
They buy small pieces of the jewelry from metal shop, set them on a wax board following their design, then welding them together.
At the end the polish and color the jewelries before sell them in market.
