Описание к видео BUILT | Mosaic with Rival XPLR eTap AXS

We love it when a plan comes together. When writer and bikepacker Joe Cruz reached out asking for advice on a new gravel bike for our Rival XPLR eTap AXS drivetrain just as Mosaic mentioned partnering on a project, we knew they were a perfect match. With our race technician Anna passing through Boulder and available to build the bike, we had to film it.

Mosaic laid down a tri-color fade on their GT-2 gravel frame, adorning the lighter portions of the paint with glyphs that represent Joe's relationship with maps and the experience of being in the world that the map represents.

As Joe says, "the silence of maps—that which is unsaid and left out—is important. Marks on paper or on a screen remain far from the lived texture of the experience once you get there. The map leaves out what it is going to be like to watch storm clouds form in the distance, or the conversation with a farmer in her field, or the way that passing through the gridded roads of a town is a chance to stop a while and kick a ball with kids. The silence of maps is an invitation to vulnerability and humility.”
