As a result of the court's decision on Tuesday, Anders Behring Breivik, the far-right fanatic who murdered 77 people in 2011, will stay in jail for the rest of his life.
Breivik had a parole hearing last month in front of the Telemark District Court, where he claimed to have abandoned violence but proclaimed white nationalist ideas and gave Nazi salutes on the first day of the hearing.
The court, on the other hand, said that he is still a danger.
As long as his psychological state has not altered since the terrorist attacks of July 22, 2011, there is an apparent danger that he would revert to his old ways, according to a court judgement.
The court stated he "used severe violence to attain his own political ends" and that he "continues to have the capacity to conduct fresh serious offences that put others in risk."
Breivik is now serving a term of up to 21 years in prison for the bombing of Oslo's government area and the shooting massacre at a left-wing youth activist summer camp.
He was found to be sane during his trial, despite the prosecution's claim that he was insane. He didn't appeal his sentence but sued the government for depriving him of his ability to speak with allies.
As long as he's regarded a danger to society, the government may keep Breivik in jail for more than the usual 21 years.
