Nimisha Priya Case: Kanthapuram Steps Back, Nimisha’s Fate With Govt? | Kanthapuram | Indian Nurse

Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar has clarified his role in the efforts to save Malayali nurse Nimisha Priya, who is facing a death sentence in Yemen for the 2017 murder of her local partner. Speaking to Risala Update, Kanthapuram said his intervention ended after Yemeni scholars approached the victim’s family and the initial execution order was stalled.

He stressed that the matter is now in the hands of the Indian government, which continues diplomatic talks to secure Nimisha’s release or reduce her sentence. The Supreme Court too has noted that there is no immediate threat of execution, with negotiations still ongoing.
