🎣 Hunting FADs off Wollongong | When the Crowds Miss, Local Knowledge Wins

In this episode, Stuart heads out to fish the local FADs off Wollongong, chasing pelagics and seeing what the season is shaping up to be.

The official FAD was packed with boats and, despite the hype, delivered zero fish. With conditions not on our side, we leaned on local recon and private FAD marks saved on the navigation system — and that’s where things turned around.

While all the fish we found were undersized and released, the action was constant and the signs were incredibly positive. Plenty of life around, plenty of bites, and a great indicator of what’s coming in the weeks ahead.

Not every trip is about keeping fish — sometimes it’s about learning, adapting, and enjoying time on the water. This one had a great vibe and proved once again that local knowledge makes all the difference.
