Retired Northern Regional Police Chief Mark Bentzel spoke on behalf of the Becker family. He was described as a family friend and he also served as chief at the time Becker joined Nothern Regional's force.

"Cody Becker was a husband, a father, a son, a grandson, and much more," he said. He spoke about his wife and his two children, a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old.
