Off The Grid: My First Impressions

#offthegrid is the latest and greatest "AAA Crypto Web3 Blockchain" Game, from yet another brand new studio with no prior development experience. Typically, this would be passed over just like every one of its peers, if it weren't for the involvement of Neill Blomkamp, famed director of some of my favorite movies of all time.

It's a 3rd person battle royale with NFT items and a real money marketplace. It runs horribly, and the only reason I can slightly enjoy it is because I have a $2300 computer. If you don't, or you have a console, good luck.

But believe it or not, there's actually a lot of potential here; it's easily one of if not the best crypto games I've ever played. Why is it not horrible? Well, mostly because none of the real crypto aspects are turned on yet. The real money marketplace isn't active, and they didn't pre-sell overpriced NFTs like every other crypto game. Wait a minute, doesn't that kind of just make it a normal video game?

Yeah, it does. I've been playing crypto games for a while now. Through this journey, we've seen some of the most egregious scams and overmonetized pieces of shovelware to ever exist; and it's just not fair to compare Off The Grid to any of those games.

Instead, it should be compared to other free-to-play BR titles, like Warzone, Apex, or Fortnite. And how does it stand against those? Is it any good? Will OFF THE GRID and #CRYPTO BLOCKCHAIN #NFT GAMES take OVER THE WORLD!?!?!?!
