Welcome back to my West Highland Way journey! Day 2 takes me from the charming village of Drymen to the peaceful Cashel Campsite, nestled right on the shores of the iconic Loch Lomond.

The day kicks off with my bags securely locked away, giving me the freedom to explore without the extra weight. I grab a hearty breakfast from a cozy deli in Drymen to fuel the miles ahead. From there, the trail leads through the serene Garadhban Forest, where the early morning sun filters beautifully through the trees, making for a peaceful and refreshing start to the day.

Then comes the climb up Conic Hill—one of the most scenic highlights of the West Highland Way! The panoramic views over Loch Lomond and its scattered islands are nothing short of spectacular and well worth the effort.

After the descent into the picturesque village of Balmaha, I stop for a well-earned lunch before visiting the statue of the legendary Scottish climber and broadcaster Sir Tom Weir. A short break to reflect and soak in the scenery, then it’s time to follow the winding shoreline of Loch Lomond, with gentle waves and woodland paths guiding the way.

As the day winds down, I arrive at Cashel Campsite—a perfect spot to rest with the loch right at your doorstep. Stay tuned for more from the trail as I continue north through Scotland’s rugged beauty!
