Some will say: "All that you will need is a piece of cordage, that you attach to the tarp and to a stake." Yes, that is one way of doing it. But what if you want to set up your tarp over your hammock between two trees that will give you this incredible view. Only to find that the ground is either too wet and saturated or sandy or hard because of rocks. Now, what do you do?
