This video follows the quiet making of The Red Queen – a mixed media art doll created for the group show “Curious Worlds of Peculiar Dolls” at Poetic Tiger Gallery (poetictiger.com).

From wire armature and paper strips to stuffed textile cushions, painted bodice and beaded shoulders, you can watch her slowly take shape:
building the frame, padding the skirt, sculpting the face, then adding wool hair.

It’s not a step-by-step tutorial, more like keeping you company in the studio while one slightly strange queen appears – somewhere between folk art, costume history and a small cabinet sculpture.

This piece is a one-of-a-kind decorative collectible, made for shelves and altars, not for play – for collectors who love peculiar dolls, textile sculpture and dolls-as-art.
