Описание к видео Post-it note was NOT invented by 3M employee Art Fry

Post-it note was NOT invented by 3M employee Art Fry
A former 3M employee was eye witness to Amron's Press-on memo sticky notes disclosure to 3M in 1974, Daniel Dassow in a Federal Court document sworn testimony.

Art Fry admittedly in 1974 invented a Press n’ peel bookmark, “to hold his place in his hymnbook”. Not a Post-it sticky note.

Alan Amron in 1973 invented a Press on memo, “to post a note for his wife”, and disclosed it to 3M in 1974. A Post-it sticky note.

3M never ended up using Spencer Silvers 1968 special adhesive on the Post-it sticky notes.

Amron holds 40 U.S. patents, but he’s most proud of his iconic invention of which he gets little credit. The Post it sticky note by 3M, found everywhere in the world.

Amron invented what he called Press on memo, to post a sticky note in 1973, and disclosed it to 3M in 1974.

A full year before 3M scientists in 1974 claimed to have developed the Post it note while in a church choir.

Although Amron settled a 1997 trade secret lawsuit against 3M, and was given a check. He again sued 3M in 2015 for declaratory judgment. That case was dismissed, and declared the 1998 settlement agreement upheld.

3M AND ART FRY ADMITTEDLY DIDN'T INVENT THE POST IT NOTE, nor did they use the Spencer Silver special 1968 adhesive.

“Post it note was conceived in 1974 by Arthur Fry as a way of holding bookmarks in his hymnal while singing in the church choir. He was aware of an adhesive accidentally developed in 1968 by fellow 3M employee Spencer Silver.” 3M/FRY/GOOGLE/Wikipedia

It comes down to three simple, but significantly meaningful words, and intentions of the inventors.

The intention of inventor Amron in 1973, Press on memo to post a NOTE.

The intention of the inventor Fry in 1974, to Press n' peel BOOKMARK.

WEBSTERS DICTIONARY:

NOTE: "ideas written down."

MEMO: "a written message."

BOOKMARK: "a strip of leather, card, or other material, used to mark one's place in a book."

Fry now 84 is retired, he never received a dime from 3M (other than his regular salary) for his supposed role in the creation of the Post it note.

Amron now 69 is retired, in 1998 received a Post it note settlement agreement with a small check.

Myth: “Post it note invented in church choir by Art Fry in 1974”

Truth: “Post it note invented at home by Alan Amron in 1973 and disclosed to 3M in 1974”.

Fact: Art Fry in church choir in 1974 invented a Press n' peel "to hold his bookmark in his hymnbook". Not a Post it note.
