I will show you how to repot a pretty rootbound Spider Plant( Chlorophytum comosum) which has grown roots out from the drainage holes of the pot. How to carefully remove it without damaging the roots and transplant in a bigger pot.
There many different varieties of spider plants to choose from like Curly Spider plant, Zebra, Hawaiian, Variegatum white center green edges( most common), reverse variegation( green center white edges the one I repot in this video. There is all green too which is not commonly available.
Watering - They are moisture loving plants. You don’t need to let them dry out completely. Water thoroughly when top inch or two is dry. You can test it by sticking your finger in the soil. If lots of wet soil stuck to your finger then no need to water. If soil feels dry and not sticking to the finger, you can water it. You will also notice leaves are wilting if it needs water. After watering let the excess water drain out before putting it back in the cover pot or saucer. Having drainage holes in the pot is very important.

Sunlight - Spider plants don’t like direct sunlight. They prefer indirect bright light. They will grow in medium light as well. Make sure to keep few feet away from the window or use sheer curtains. If there leaves are getting lighter that means they are getting too much light. If they are growing thin then they are getting less light.

Humidity- Spider plants love humidity or tip of their leaves will turn brown. But there are other reasons for them to turn brown like using tap water which has mineral deposits. You can use distilled water to flush it out if you prefer. It will get brown tips from over fertilization. You can invest in a humidifier as well. It will help create the humidity.

Fertilizer- Spider plants can be fertilized twice a year during spring and summer. Make sure to follow the label on the fertilizer and dilute even more.

Repotting - Spider plants grow well when slightly rootbound and produce lots of babies. Which give this plant its unique look and can be propagated to make more plants to keep or give away. But don’t let it get extremely rootbound. When you see roots are growing out of the drainage holes or sticking out on top of the pot. It’s time to repot.
