INSIDE MOTHERWELL S02 E02 // Fans are finally back

The second instalment of Inside Motherwell for the 2021/22 season is here.

July saw the return of supporters to the first time in 500 days, as the team lined up against Queen of the South in the Premier Sports Cup.

A dramatic afternoon would follow for the 2,000 allowed back in to Fir Park, with the team finding themselves 2-0 down at half-time.

The development of young talent is central to what Motherwell FC does as a club.

The emergence in recent years of talented youngsters making the grade to first team level such as David Turnbull, Chris Cadden, Allan Campbell, Barry Maguire and James Scott has shown the pathway available.

Now there is a new crop of youngsters making the step up, and we spoke to academy director Steven Hammell about their progress.

Ahead of the opening league game of the season, the squad enjoyed the annual media day. They had their photos taken for Sky Sports, the club website and the birthday shots that would be used across the coming year.
