ROBIN TROWER - Coming Closer To The Day - album preview video interview

Robin Trower talks to Andy Rawll (for Record Collector Magazine news) about his latest solo album 'Coming Closer To The Day' (Provogue/ Mascot Label Group) as his recent rich run of form continues, following his excellent 2017 release 'Time and Emotion'.

It's a fine collection of blues-based songs with Robin's playing as stately and elegant as ever and his voice strong and soulful.

We spoke about the background to the album as well as delving back into his past career with stories about Robert Fripp, Martin Barre, Jimi Hendrix, Jack Bruce, Procol Harum and Brian Ferry. Watch this space for the interview link.

Coming up to date, he reveals details about his collaboration with fellow Lewisham lad Maxi Priest and long-time producer/bassist, Livingstone Brown, that will yield both an album ('United State of Mind') and tour later this year (24-29 Oct 2019)

Having recently completed an extensive US solo tour, his sights are set on further UK solo dates in early 2020.
