Staircase to Staircase: Told by Aarhus municipality

The road back to the employment market can be difficult if you have been out of work a long time and also have other social or health challenges besides unemployment.

With the innovative employment and family project Opgang til Opgang (Staircase to Staircase), Aarhus municipality and SUS have demonstrated a new way to help vulnerable families in Gellerup.

Opgang til Opgang continues to be funded by the municipality, and the project has been further scaled up to cover other vulnerable residential areas in Aarhus Municipality.

The project points the way to more relational, interdisciplinary and effective social and employment efforts in the coming years.

The Opgang til Opgang project was designed by SUS – Social Development Centre and Aarhus Municipality, and was implemented with financial support from the A.P. Møller Foundation. You can read more about the project’s experiences and results in the concluding evaluation report at www.sus.dk
