Bee eater with prey in flight

Описание к видео Bee eater with prey in flight

Climate change now makes it possible to visit a bird that was previously very exotic for me in an approximately one-hour drive by car at its colony in a renaturated gravel pit.
The footage of bee-eaters shown here were taken last year during the rearing of the young, where the adult birds incessantly bring food in the form of the most diverse insects. The good weather with warm temperatures and dry weather favors the hunt and thus the breeding success. It is strange that many former commoner species such as lapwing and skylark have almost disappeared in many places and immigrate Mediterranean species such as bee eaters and spread a southern flair here in the north. Special thanks to my natural photo colleagues, who gave me the tip to visit the colony.
