I also wanted to share my favorite technique for simplifying and practicing the bow drill friction fire method. This is a trick I picked up from the ‪@feralwoodcraft‬ Youtube channel. In a video he published years and years ago (when he went by the name "Feral Woodcraft"), he showed how purchasing wood at the hardware store increased your bowdrill success potential substantially especially while practicing in harsh environments.
