There is uncertainty for emerging musicians, but you can get ahead by starting to write and record tracks. This group of music makers shares the valuable lessons their mentors taught them, offering advice for those beginning their own creative journey.

Start small and explore where you want to go while staying authentic to your community. By working with what you have and building the confidence to push and market yourself, you’ll feel the freedom to take risks and seize any opportunities that come your way.

In 2024, a group of young Musicians from across regional NSW participated in the Horizons mentorship program. They received tailored industry advice and guidance from their mentor, while also building lasting relationships and professional networks with one another.
