Amateur Attempt to fix my expandable garden hose by cutting/shortening it where it sprung a leak.

Описание к видео Amateur Attempt to fix my expandable garden hose by cutting/shortening it where it sprung a leak.

This is a REAL BAD amateur video of me trying to fix my leaky garden hose.
This is the garden hose you can get from amazon/ebay that expands when water creates pressure in the hose. They're nice because when there is no water, the hose takes up little space.

They're bad because they can easily spring a leak if you forget to empty out the hose.

Anyways.. the gist of this video is this.
Let's say you have an expandable garden hose and one day it springs a leak (mine got one near 5 months of light use).

1. Find out where the leak is.
2. Cut the hose where the leak is.
3. Reattach the hose to one of the ends so the hose no longer has a leak

Simple right?
Hard part: Removing one end of the hose. The clamp is a metal clamp.. in the video.. I don't show how I removed the clamp.. sorry. I didn't have a tripod. All I used was a flat screwdriver and plyers (much harder then it needed to be).

Hard part 2: Reattaching the clamp. I actually tore the clamp apart. My workaround was to use twisty ties. In retrospect.. I maybe should have used zip ties. Regardless.. you need something to restrict the water at where you are reattaching everything at the end of the hose.

Good luck. I repaired mine.. and surprisingly it still works after a few weeks.
