Footage from the IWM archives now available showing the various tests of the main large bouncing bomb and the smaller highball.
Highball was actually test dropped on the ground at Porton. I believe the idea was to bounce a bomb along the ground and into railway tunnels etc although never used. Highball was never used in anger either on water or ground. One shot shows the dam busting bomb being dropped at Reculver (in Kent) which very nearly went wrong as the splash seriously damaged the aircraft. Another claissic shot of Highball which nearly took out the camera man.
