Two Levels of European Vintage Archtop Guitars

Описание к видео Two Levels of European Vintage Archtop Guitars

I discuss and demonstrate a 50's/60's Rodebald Hoyer Jazz Star, and a 40's Levin Deluxe. The Jazz Star has L-5 dimensions, more or less, a 16 and 1/2 inch body width and a 25 and 1/2 inch scale. The Levin is 18 inches wide, like a Gibson Super 400, but has the regular Gibson scale length of 24 and 3/4 inches, rather than the long scale. The Levin has also been modified with a Florentine cutaway -- I assume the guitar began as a non-cutaway model.

!! Contrary to what I said in the video, the key that turns the neck bolt on the the Hoyer does adjust the neck tension and functions like a truss rod adjustment. !!

Please see Acoustic Standards great youtube channel (link below), it was Romain's featuring of Levin Deluxe models that introduced me to this great instrument!
