And leading the parade with flair, we’re thrilled to welcome Hamish Kerr, the 2024 Olympic gold medallist in high jump, as this year’s Grand Marshal—talk about a grand entrance!

But the highlight of the day, of course, will be the arrival of the jolly man himself – Santa Claus!

But the fun doesn’t end there. After the Parade keep the excitement going at Santa’s Party in Aotea Square, with incredible stage entertainment, including the Bluey Live Christmas Experience, a LEGO® build activation, amusement rides, delicious food, and activities for the whole family.

With a rich history dating back to 1933, the Farmers Santa Parade has become a beloved tradition for families across New Zealand, and this year’s event promises to be the biggest and best yet.

Auckland Council is stumping up $800,000 for the tree.

Private organisations Heart of the City, the central city's business association, and Precinct Properties, a major landholder and developer, are funding the rest.

Alliance spokesman Sam Warren told the Herald the cost raised questions around spending priorities.

"There's no doubt the tree will look stunning - it should, given its incredibly high price tag," Warren said.
