American Bandstand 1957- The Christmas Song, Nat King Cole

I know this has been posted elsewhere but hey, it’s Christmastime and it’s American Bandstand…I think it deserves a second look, especially this time of year. 😊

Bandstand has been broadcast nationally on ABC for about 4 months now. The young, non-threatening host, Dick Clark, and the well dressed, clean-cut dancers have made parents feel more comfortable letting their kids watch ”Rock and Roll” on their TV sets. The dancers are also becoming nationally recognized as they are on TV every weekday and are also being featured in “16” magazine.

Regulars dancing today: Frani Giordano (0:18), Peggy Thompson (0:29), Carole Scaldeferri (1:30), Betty Romantini (1:40), Pat Molittieri (2:28), and Kenni Rossi & Rosalie Beltrante (2:34).

….And 4 days ago “The Bridge on the River Kwai”, starring William Holden and Alec Guinness, premiered. It would go on to be the highest grossing film of the year and win the Oscar for Best Picture.
