Lyrical and spacious, this piece depicts hot air balloons peacefully floating through the sky. Listen to the music that begins in the upper register of the piano keyboard to reflect the hot air balloons high in the sky.

Around the piano, demonstrate for students how the pitches change in different registers, from high to low. Students will enjoy picking out notes in the different registers of the piano. Encourage students to notice the change in the music when the low bass notes play. The video provides a visual representation of this moment showing the flame firing the balloon.

Students in a group music class can pretend that they are floating breezily across the sky to the music. Encourage students to find their own space to stretch their arms out and fly, moving in a slow, smooth gesture.
