My channel is all about the fact that I was wrong to think I knew the answer to this question and the journey I’ve been on over the past few years as a result. And this is chapter one. Welcome to the first episode of Hidden Roots!

Let me introduce myself real quick.. my name’s Joe, I’m a singer and I’m trying to do YouTube a bit differently. So I’ve made a whole series you can follow along with as I look back ay my dad’s life to look for answers to some of the questions he left behind when he died.

I grew up with my mom and dad in Wolverhampton, UK in the 90s. Me and my dad got on just fine but he didn’t like to share too much about himself so I never really got to know him that well. He taught me to work hard, play by the rules, respect authority and tell the truth. I never dreamt that I’d find out when he died that he’d been lying to his family and everyone he knew for decades. It turned out my dad was 10 years older than he’d always claimed to be, he even had a different birthday and that’s not all.. but you’ll find out more about that in the next episode which you can watch here:
