Part of me was considering leaving the description as just "Himmel" because, you know, Himmel, but I am a babbler by nature, so babble I must.
I've been reading Sousou no Frieren ever since the first chapter came out, so you would not believe the sheer excitement I felt when I heard the news of an anime-- and so, now that it's out, I obviously had to do an AMV for my beloved ship (it will not be the last)! It has taken a while, since I was waiting for certain scenes to be adapted (ring scene-- I will die when that gets adapted), but the anime has been feeding me so well with additional scenes that I didn't even know I wanted... so I actually ended up finishing this AMV earlier than I expected to.
For my first AMV of these two, I really, really wanted it to be exclusively from Frieren's perspective (as in, her view of and her feelings for Himmel), and so a large part of the early struggle was finding the perfect song (it was much easier to find songs that fit Himmel's perspective/that suited them in a more general sense), so when I came across this little gem of a song, I had to use it! It suits Frieren so beautifully.

Editing rambles:
So, first thing: I wanted this to lean on a more simple, clean style, so, uh, that's what I tried to go for? Hard to judge whether I managed that though haha 'cause it's difficult! I have a tendency to constantly want to match every little beat and such (like, scene switches with every little beat), so a big thing for me in this one was to make sure to take it slower than I normally do and let scenes just breathe so that it fit the vibe of the song better. Anyways, as a result of all of this, a lot of my transitions ended up being blurs, glows, and fades. Hopefully, everyone likes it.
Second: my original plan was to play with overlays and stuff more-- and while I did do that a little, I ended up not going too heavy on it.
Third: I took a few scenes from Yoasabi's MV for Yuusha (OP), and my goddddd did I have a wretched time trying to clean away the text frame-by-frame 😭 I am not very good at cleaning stuff (and that is why I strategically placed glows and blurs so that it would distract from my terrible cleaning lmao). The sad part is that there's probably an easier way to do it and the method somehow evaded my desperate google-searching. If there is ever a cleaned version of that MV (i.e., without the lyrics), someone let me know ASAP.
Another thing-- whenever I upload videos to youtube, there's always parts that are lower quality (like, very pixelated), despite it not being like that in the actual AMV itself (that I have). If anyone knows how to fix this, please do let me know because it hurts my soul.
Final thing (for manga readers): for a couple of the Himmel shots (for example, the last one), I tried to add these little glows to really convey this idea that he was this "ray of light", like how Frieren described him.
