Sukeroku Yukari no Edo Zakura ("Sukeroku, The Flower of Edo") is a masterpiece of early Edo sewamono drama, first performed in 1713 by Ichikawa Danjūrō II and refined into its final during his lifetime. It is now part of Kabuki Jūhachiban collection of play, but a few other acting houses have also successfully made the role of the otokodate Sukeroku theirs.

Since the beginning of the Heisei period in 1989, the role of Sukeroku has been played 25 times, most often by Ichikawa Danjūrō XII (8 times) or his son, Ichikawa Ebizō XI (8 times), followed by Kataoka Nizaemon XV (6 times). Onoe Kikugorō VII and Bandō Mitsugorō X attempted once each, in 1989 and 2001, respectively.
