I chose to present the setting of this scene as a threat to the characters’ relationship, therefore showing their desperation to be together.
The music follows the action, matching the emotions of the characters as they endure pain and go through the ordeal of the scene, proving their love for each other. On top of this, the characters’ love is reinforced due to the setting itself being a threat that they must consider and overcome. This setting of space called for a sparser score, providing quieter and thinner moments, so that the climactic ones are further emphasised as a result of this contrast.
