62 Year Old Male Facelift Patient Has a Setback?

Kevin was a phenomenal help to me and his wife, Jean, when she had her full Omakase Facial Rejuvenation one year ago.

I performed a browlift, lower blepharoplasty with fat transfer and laser skin resurfacing, deep plane extended lower facelift, and deep plane neck lift. For most men, I use a quilting suture known as a hemostatic net which you can see on the sides of Kevin's face. This is a clinically proven method to prevent bleeding (hematoma).

The progression of swelling is typical with most of the major swelling subsiding 2-4 weeks after surgery. Kevin had some swelling of his conjunctiva (the white part of the eye), which is fairly common in eye area surgery. I prescribed some medication, but Kevin had a negative reaction. So on Day 8, we switched the prescription, and the next day, there was a significant reduction of the swelling.

Every patient reacts differently to surgery. My staff and I regularly follow-up with patients to make sure that they are progressing properly.

Remember, final results (i.e. elimination of swelling, minimization and healing of scars, etc) can take 6 to 12 months.
