So today I was making a beat and I stumbled upon a little glitch that makes the filter bug out and create a stutter effect.

All I did was record some filter automation (Freq) and adjusted the cutoff on the filter as it played back the recorded parameter changes. The filter tries to work against itself and the results is a nice stuttery glitch that is being filtered at the same time. Add some delay/reverb to the track and you get some real ambient glitches.

This trick can also be used on the tuning knob. The glitch on this one has a pitch modulation going on agains the stutter giving you a nice variation of the same effect.

This is a good trick for adding on the fly stuttery glitches to a track. The effect is more pronounced the more contrasted the parameter changes are. In other words, if the recorded automation is going up in frequency you will hear more of a stutter if you move the knob in the opposite direction. If it's still confusing, you'll hear what I'm talking about as you try it.
