The indigenous peoples of Panama. The seven indigenous peoples of Panama are the Ngäbe, the Buglé, the Guna, the Emberá, the Wounaan, the Bri bri, and the Naso Tjërdi.

In Colon we visited, the Embera people which are indigenous to western Colombia and eastern Panama and mostly migrated into what is now the Darien province of Panama in the 1700s, following Spanish colonization in Colombia. They traditionally lived in extended family units along the banks of rivers and rarely had established villages.


We booked tour company Discover Panama 365 to show us around the country. And, to educate us on the history and culture of Panama.
