Part 1 from our trip to Harpole's Heartland Lodge in Pike County, Illinois.

At the end of October, Garrett and I took a trip to the Midwest to hunt big whitetail deer. This would be a semi guided hunt for free range deer. I had hunted at the lodge a number of times in the past, but this would be Garrett's first trip.

Garrett was 12 years old when we went on this hunt for giant whitetail bucks at Harpole's Heartland Lodge in Pike County, Illinois. This was his first trip to hunt deer in the midwest. This hunt for big bucks was at the beginning of the whitetail rut.

As a youth, Garrett's effort to bow hunt giant whitetail bucks is fun to watch. He learns how to hunt massive Illinois bucks like a pro. This was not a special youth hunt, he hunted as hard as any dedicated whitetail hunter. Although he is far from a beginner, this video serves as a great example for anyone looking for tips and tactics for how to hunt giant whitetail bucks.
