Maestro Isainyani Ilaiyaraaja in Singapore

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) had the pleasure of collaborating with Maestro, Isainyani Ilaiyaraaja on this video when he was in Singapore in August 2018 for his concert performance.

With a full orchestra, including members of the Budapest Orchestra, he conducted one of his iconic songs 'Akkarai Seemai Azhaginiley” from the 1979 Tamil movie “Priya” that was filmed in Singapore. Nearly 40 years after the original song, it serves as the background score for Maestro Ilaiyaraaja taking in the sights and sounds of Singapore.

He visited iconic landmarks and attractions like Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, Resorts World Sentosa, Victoria Theatre, Shangri- La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa. He shared on camera his thoughts about Singapore, a country he has visited frequently.
