S1 – Ep 226 – Hondeklip Bay – A Small Fishing Village Along the Namaqualand Coast!

We left Soebatsfontein and travelled on a beautiful scenic gravel road all the way to Hondeklip Bay. We arrived late in the afternoon, went to our accommodation directly to check in and then immediately started our exploration of the small fishing village. Situated along the Namaqualand coast, we found this little place to be very quiet. We did not see many people around. I'm pretty sure it gets much busier during the holiday season. We wanted to see the rock which looked like a dog because that is how this village got its name. In the beginning we struggled to see the resemblance, but I think we finally were able to figure it out, more-or-less at least. Then, after a short drive through the village, the light started to fade so we returned to our accommodation for the night and continued exploring the next morning. We had to go to the beautiful lighthouse we saw from our chalet and that is exactly what we did!
