Trains from DB Regio and DB Fernverkehr at Siegelsdorf in 4k, ICE, RE, RB, BoxXpress, Metrans BR 622

January 2021. Some days ago I was at Siegelsdorf station to watch the typical trains coming by when the go from Nuremberg to Würzburg. One interesting thing is that in Siegelsdorf the "Zenngrundbahn" to Markt Erlbach starts, following the Zenn river to Raindorf, Langenzenn, Laubendorf, Wilhermsdorf, Mitteleschenbach and finally, after 17,7 km, reaching Markt Erlbach.

Another memorable ascept about Siegelsdorf is that here the ramp to Hagenbüchach starts. Especially during steam tracktion is was very important to have enough pressure in the boiler.


On 10th of June 1928, one of the biggest train accident after WW1 happened. Night train D47 coming from Würzburg, derailed short after passing the Zenn river bridge. 24 people died, more than 100 people were badly injured.
