RAHEEM STERLING is reportedly looking to remain in London despite rejecting a move to West Ham.

The former England international has been frozen out of the Chelsea squad since returning from his spell at Arsenal last summer.

And the Blues are desperate to offload the £325,000-a-week winger and West Ham were among those interested in a loan deal.

But according to The Times, Sterling rejected the Hammers’ approach and instead prefers a move to West London rivals Fulham.

West Ham are in a relegation fight, meanwhile Fulham are treading water in 11th.

Sterling – signed by Chelsea from Manchester City in 2022 for £50million – still has 18 months left on his contract.

The forward – who won four Premier League titles at City – prefers a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge.

He was reluctant to join Juventus or Bayer Leverkusen last summer as he wanted to stay in London to remain close to his family.

That too ruled out a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.

Crystal Palace are also interested in signing Sterling to bolster their squad, which is also competing in Europe.

Sterling’s hopes of moving to Fulham would be bolstered if wideman Adama Traore leaves this month – following an approach from West Ham.

The 31-year-old has made 81 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 19 goals.

But he was not in Enzo Maresca’s plans and was made to train on his own this season, having rejected the chance to leave in the summer.

Maresca has since left Chelsea with the club now searching for a new manager.
