Fulltone OCD vs Tone City Dry Martini (Comparision / Blind test!)

The master and the contender... maybe. So I have reviewed the Tone City Dry Martini, without comparing it to the pedal that it's based on; the Fulltone OCD. I saved that for this video and after some thinking I decided to make it a blind test. Who doesn't love a blind test?!! It's scientific, fun and... well, a somewhat fair way to do an A/B-test.

I don't think the Fulltone OCD needs a detailed introduction. It's a classic overdrive pedal, available in many different versions and made in the USA. This pedal is said to have been sold in over 250000 units since it came around in late 2004. A sensitive overdrive, something that can create those overtones from a driven tube amplifier.

The Tone City Dry Martini is a smaller sized 'clone', made in China and cheaper than the OCD. It do have the same controls (Volume, Tone, Gain and a hi/low gain switch) but the spec's are not excatly the same... and I do believe you can hear that - in my ears they do not sound the same. And that's why I figured a blind test would be a good way to go about!

This way you can check out which sound you prefer, it might... or might not... surprize you. Let me know in the comments what you thought sounded the best! And did you get it right, pedal by pedal?
