1. Shashi Kapoor
The actor passed away on December 4, 2017. He was admitted to the Kokilaben Hospital due to a chest infection. He is reported to have died due to liver cirrhosis at the age of 79. Bollywood is never going to forget his charm, contribution, and dedication towards the cinema.

Film director, producer, and screenwriter Ram Mukherjee who was also Rani’s father breathed his last on October 22, 2017. Not many of us know this, but Rani’s debut film was produced by her father. His skills, calibre, and learnings are always going to stay here and remind us of him.

3. Lekh Tandon
Veteran filmmaker and Amrapali’s director Lekh Tandon passed away on 15th October 2017. He breathed his last at the age of 88 at his Powai residence. He had also acted in various films including Swades, Rang De Basanti, and Chennai Express.

4. Sitaram Panchal
Actor Sitaram Panchal was battling lung and kidney cancer from past three years, and he finally lost the battle when he breathed his last on August 10, 2017. If reports are to be believed, the actor was in bed for past 10 months before he died.

5. Inder Kumar
The news of Inder’s untimely death came as a shock to many including me. He suffered a fatal heart attack, and that took his life. It’s sad to see someone as young as 43 years pass away. Inder died on 28th July 2017. I will remember him for his great work in some of the most prominent films including Baaghi and Wanted.

6. Reema Lagoo
The actress gave a new meaning to motherhood in Hindi cinema. With her warmth, love, and sober ‘maa’ roles, she became an icon. Unfortunately, the actress breathed her last on 18th May 2017 after several cardiac arrests. The news of her sudden demise took the B-town by storm, no one could bear such great loss, but one has no control over things that almighty decides.

7. Vinod Khanna
The veteran actor had bladder cancer when his body eventually gave up on 27 April 2017. He was hospitalised in Girgaon, Mumbai. Even after his death, he is always going to stay alive in our memories.

8. Om Puri
The year started on a very sad note with Om Puri’s demise on 6th January 2017. The actor was last seen in Salman Khan’s Tubelight. He died at the age of 66 at his Mumbai residence. He has added various honours to his name for his contribution to Indian Cinema.

9. Sonika Chauhan
Sonika was a model, actor and a TV host. She anchored the popular Pro Kabaddi League on Star Sports. The actress met with an accident on April 29, 2017, but when she was brought to the hospital, she was declared dead.
