One week from today MP's will take part in a parliamentary debate, secured through the success of a community led petition that gained 100k signatures in 10 days.
They will discuss how they can help to ensure a fair and sustainable agreement is made between NICE, NHS England & Vertex Pharmaceuticals that could give UK Cystic Fibrosis patients access to #Orkambi and other precision medicines for CF via the NHS.
I'm not the most technical, I wish I was skilled enough to include text and information about CF and the Orkambi campaign so far (of which there is a lot) but watching this back after it was finished, I think the lyrics and the images speak for themselves, the CF community cannot wait any longer for Orkambi, whilst we wait, irreversible damage is being done to every sufferer, shortening their life expectancy as it goes, posts about adults and children losing their fight are a frequent occurrence on our news feeds, every day we live in fear that our children will be stolen from us before they've had a chance to truly live! We watch people from across the world gain access to these new 'Wonder Drugs' and as much as we are elated for them, we cannot help but to sit and think.....What about us???
We have the means to help delay a disease from destroying lives and although other countries have found resolutions to help their CF communities gain access, the UK have fallen behind its European neighbours with its CF care and many have paid the price! Enough is Enough!
