Exploring Talyllyn Railway | Tywyn to Nant Gwernol, Wales

Описание к видео Exploring Talyllyn Railway | Tywyn to Nant Gwernol, Wales

In this video, we're riding the Talyllyn Railway, the world's first preserved railway, affectionately known as 'The Railway with a Heart of Gold'. This historic line, which opened in 1865, was saved by the Preservation Society in 1951 after the passing of its owner, Sir Haydn Jones.

Our journey begins in Tywyn, a coastal town on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, and takes us to Nant Gwernol, nestled deep in the mountains above Abergynolwyn. We'll travel over seven miles of stunning scenery, all within sight of Cadair Idris, one of Britain's highest mountains.

You can hop on and off the train at various stations: Tywyn Wharf, Pendre, Rhydyronen, Brynglas, Dolgoch, Abergynolwyn, and Nant Gwernol. Be sure to check the timetable on the website to plan your journey.
