Coherent states are commonly known as one of the most classical quantum states. What follows in this lecture is an introduction through some calculations and derivations of common tools employed. Such things as the photon number states, the coherent states and the creation/annihilation operators are introduced and described.

The goal of this lecture is to show that the coherent states indeed make for a good quantum mechanical description of a classical electromagnetic wave sharing similar properties.

This seminar was performed on the Physics Discord server and in the future there should be more to come.
