A year and a half after the original The Crew's shutdown, the TCU Team has finally released its server emulator for the game, making it playable once again. As someone who has played this game a lot, even during its last days and remaining minutes before the shutdown, it feels surreal to be able to play it again. It's beautiful.

This is gameplay of The Crew, post-shutdown. I showcase my old savegame backup, do some story missions, skills and pursuits, and indulge in general malarkey.

Some oddities, particularly related to my old savegame backup, can be seen:
Almost all of my story missions (with the exception of some CAU missions) and skills are considered incomplete but are unlocked, all landmarks that I had visited prior to shutdown remain "seen" also
Almost all of the in-game challenges I had done are now considered incomplete, certain unlocks like license plates I had unlocked prior are still available to me in the garage however

...all of this ontop of the game's usual jank and bugginess. It's good to be back.
